'We want justice and end racial attack' cries vocally rang out at the funeral service of L Poumai who was brutally dead under suspicious circumstances during his journey to Bangalore.
After controversial claims by Odisha police and much delay, the mortal remains of L Poumai.
who was mysteriously found dead hanging from a tree at the official residence of a senior OAS officer in Bhubaneswar on December 2, has been brought to Khabung Karong.
Bhubaneswar police converted the case to murder after Poumai's family expressed strong suspicion of foul play on Friday.
Police also decided to conduct a second post mortem on the youth's body to ascertain the exact cause of his death.
The State Government sent a DSP-ranked police officer to the Odisha capital to look into the investigations of the case.
Late L Poumai was the youngest son of Lao of Khabung Karong who went missing on Nov 29 from a moving train and was found dead in a hospital at Bhubaneswar on Dec 2 .
During the condolence progamme held at Karong on Sunday, NPO condoled the death and said that it cannot accept the concocted story registered by Odisha police.
Naga Women Union, president Tabitha also assured to pursue the case collectively with family members and the Karong union.
ATSUM, SDSA, PNU and other civil bodies joined the condemnation.
Karong Union president deeply condoled and conveyed a message to the gathering that the death of Pouma should be condemned by every community and they should join hands to condemn the 'murder case' .
Earlier on Sunday morning, ADC Chairman ML Markson along with ADC Members met the family members of Late L Poumai and assured to pursue and expedite the 'murder case' with the State Government.
Strongly condemning the 'murder', the Chairman added that racial discrimination and attacks op NE people must stop immediately.
Senapati has become a repeated Victim of such attacks and demanded the Government to put in all efforts to curb such crimes without further delay.
On previous occassions, the NWU, SDSA, SDWA and others had also vehemently condemned the murder.
