Ukhrul Government employees hold sit-in protest against bomb attack

Ukhrul, March 24 2023:
Several Government employees staged a sit-in protest against the recent bomb attack carried out at Ukhrul Mini Secretariat office: The protest demonstration was staged by District Level Officers (DLOs) of Ukhrul at the front gate of the Mini Secretariat office at Hamleikhong, today.
A memorandum which highlighted the prevailing law and order situation in the district has been submitted to Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar.
Reportedly, no groups or individuals have claimed responsibility for the bomb attack and threat carried out at different places of Ukhrul in the past couple of days.
A signature campaign was also taken out by the protesters.
Ukhrul DC Krishna Kumar expressed his deep concern over the development.
He said that he understands the plight of the Government employees.
The series of bomb attacks carried out at Ukhrul since the last one year at different locations such as ZEO office, Gandhi Chowk, PHED office and the recent Mini Secretariat office incident have to be taken with utmost seriousness, he continued.
The DC said that the memorandum will be forwarded to higher authority to take up actions and ensure the safety of the public as well as the Government employees.
The village authority of Hunphun/Ukhrul also condemned the bomb attack and threat carried out at Government establishments and urged the Government to book the culprits at the earliest.
