AR retrieves civil bus

Imphal, November 27 2014:
41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) retrieved a Mini Bus, which had slided off the Kharasom � Awangkasom road at Ngahui village on November 26 .
The unit received a call from Mr Vijay, the vehicle owner, informing that his Mini Bus bearing Registration Number MN 07D 1639 had slided off the main road into a 30 feet deep gorge, due to sudden failure of the brake of the vehicle.
The unit recovery vehicle and a team were pressed into action.
The team carried out the arduous task of retrieving the vehicle after a gruelling effort of four hours.
Mr Vijay expressed his gratitude to the Assam Rifles for this humanitarian gesture.
Meanwhile, troops of the 24 AR of 26 Sector AR HQ IGAR (S) apprehended a woman alongwith the contraband drugs at Khudengthabi check post on Nov 26, claimed a statement of PRO, IGAR (S) .
The arrestee identified as Mrs Laisram Bialsini Devi, aged 64 yrs, W/o Late E Boyaima, resident of Chainel Leingangeaoi, Kumbi in Bishnupur was travelling in a Maruti Van Registration No AS 11 G 1488 and heading towards Imphal.
Around 60 gms of heroin (estimated cost Rs 30 lakhs), one mobile phone, one voter identity card and cash Rs 1250/- was recovered from her possession.
The apprehendee alongwith the recovered items have been handed over to the Narcotic Control Bureau, Imphal.
