Imphal, August 20 2021:
MGSF and MSSF secretary general L Purujit has urged the state government to issue an order fulfilling the various demands of the employees so as to prevent prolonging of the on-going cease work protest.
Speaking at a joint press of Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA), Manipur Government Service Federation (MGSA) and Trained Nurses' Association of India (TNAI) Manipur State Branch at the conference hall of Old Secretariat on August 17 in connection with the ongoing cease work strike; Purujit Lairikyengbam lamented reluctance of the state government to recognise and acknowledge the responsibilities undertaken by government employees.
Apart from being deprived of their entitled benefits, employees are suffering immensely due to the day-by-day rising of Consumer Price Index.
Both the government and higher authority should be better informed about this, he added.
Demanding for streamlining the administrative structure of the government, the secretary remarked that the steps taken up till date are still impacting the employees.
The government is yet to fulfil the demands which were iterated in 2018, 2019 and 2021 .
Such delay is a sign of the government's incompetence, he said and urged for rectification of said system and for fulfilling the demands of the employees.
"If the government continues to delay the matter any further, it would not be good, he cautioned.
The press briefing was attended by TNAI, Manipur State Branch president Naoren Tangbi, MGSF president Dr Moirangthem Rajendro, MSSF president Irengbam Santi and others.
