NC Khuman promoted as Brigadier

Colonel Ngangbam Chingkheinganba Khuman (NC Khuman) has been promoted to the rank of Brigadier in the Indian Army.
Col Chingkheinganba was born to (L) Ngangbam Roman Singh and Priyosakhi Devi of Kangla Sangomsang, Imphal East in 1977 .
Taking his uncle (L) Ng Manglemjao as his role model, Chingkheinganba studied at a local school and went on to complete his schooling from Sainik School, Imphal in 1994, before joining the National Defence Academy the same year.
He completed his graduation with academic and sports excellence from the tri-service academy in 1997.The same year, he joined the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun in 1998 and was commissioned as an officer of the 4th Battalion, the 9th Gorkha Rifles (CHINDITS) .
Chingkheinganba then went on to serve in various places over the past 26 years.
He also held various staff and instructional appointments in the military establishment.
During his career, he took up posting in the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir and the Northeast Region and carried out several successful counter insurgency operations, in addition to taking up civic action programmes.
He also served as assistant military attache in Kathmandu, Nepal for three years as a major, for which he received the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card.
As a commanding officer, Chingkheinganba also commanded the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu.
In 2017-18, he participated in the High Command Course at the Army War College, Mhow.
Presently, he is posted as deputy commander of the Infantry Brigade in Barrackpore, Kolkata.
