Imphal, June 08, 2013:
Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has decried the State Cabinet's sudden decision to cancel the State Pre-Medical Test (PMT) which was scheduled to be held on June 9. Addressing media persons at the head-office of MSF, RM Koireng said that the sudden cancellation of State PMT after the issuance of admit cards was not right.
The State government should have announced its stance earlier.
Other states have already declared not to hold state PMTs when the Centre put forward the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for selection of nominees in MBBS and BDS courses across the country from this year, he noted.
Koireng stated that the sudden cancellation has even spoiled the career of some students who had not appeared the NEET in the hope for State PMT.
He further said that the students would launch intense agitations if the authorities concerned fail to give concrete reasons for the cancellation of State PMT.
