Imphal, May 11 2012:
With the Governor not giving his consent to the proposal for promulgation of an ordinance over creation of the post of Parliamentary Secretaries in state, a meeting of the State Cabinet has decided to table a Bill in connection to ensure its passing in the upcoming State Assembly scheduled sometime in June.
The meeting of the State Cabinet held with CM O Ibobi around 3 pm today, also resolved not to wait for the delimitation of Panchayat constituencies, since the Panchayat election is approaching.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Gaikhangam has expressed reservation over demand for separate homeland within a tiny state like Manipur.
Talking to mediapersons today, Gaikhangam observed that it is unfortunate for any group of people to raise the demand for separate homeland in a small state like Manipur.
All the communities living in Manipur should think as one and not separate from each other, Gaikhangam said, while informing that the issue of using fake certificates for recruitment of women to SI posts against sport quota is being looked into.
