BJP to pursue case on Richard Loitam's controversial death

Confiding that the BJP is determined to deliver justice on the issue of Richard Loitam's controversial death, State unit president Sh Shantikumar said a delegation would meet the Party's national president Nitin Gadkari on the latter's arrival at Guwahati.
Speaking to news-persons at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of the State unit BJP today, Shantikumar said party president Gadkari is scheduled to arrive at Guwahati on May 11 ahead of which the State delegation would prevail upon the national president to declare stand of the BJP on the issue.
Declaring that the State delegation would urge Gadkari to get the latest information on Richard's death from the Karnataka Government, Shantikumar also maintained that national president would be apprised to announce BJP's stand on the issue to the media.
He also asserted that the party president's announcement would be followed by a State BJP team's visit to Bangalore to take first hand account of the incident as well as demand for booking of the culprits for exemplary punishment against the guilty one.
Asserting that BJP had been upholding interest of Manipur's and North East region's students in other parts of the country, Shantikumar conveyed that North East Cell convenor of the party Sunil Dehodar had recently called on the Karnataka Chief Minister on the issue of Richard's death.
He also highlighted that the issue had been discussed in both houses of Parliamentary with BJP MPs Raman Deka and Arun Jaitley taking up the cause.
