Imphal, September 05 2018: META (Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards) award winning play, Mythical Surrender will be showcased on a floating platform at Loktak Lake.

The play is written by The Sangai Express columnist Budha Chingtham.

The play which portrays the search operations carried out by security forces to drive out militants from Loktak, will be showcased in front of tourists on a floating make shift stage.

Speaking to media persons at State Institute of Journalism, Moirangkhom, today, the writer (who is also the project leader) conveyed that theatre directors from Finland and Bangladesh along with artistes as well as State's artistes will be contributing and assisting in the production of the play.

He stated that the play will be produced by Floating Hut Repertory, Thanga.

Budha stated that a 45 day workshop will be carried out from September 17 for the production of the play.

A floating stage has been created at Loktak Lake, he said while adding that different plays narrating stories of Loktak lake every now and then by artistes will help in attracting many tourists to the State.

Budha claimed that it will be the first time a play is showcased on a floating stage.

Director and Floating Hut Repertory Thanga secretary Ningthoujam Homeshwar also appealed all the artistes in the State to attend the workshop and grab the opportunity at the earliest.
