Kangpokpi, September 07 2014: Kangpokpi (Kanggui) Area Chiefs Organization extended appreciation to local MLA Nemcha Kipgen for her efforts in effecting trifurcation of Kangpokpi TD Block into 3 blocks namely Kangpokpi T.D.Block, Champhai T.D.Block and Waichong T.D.Block.

As per the Manipur Gazette notification on August 27 last, 43 villages with a population of 30,282 has been included in Kangpokpi T.D.Block, while 45 villages with a total population of 21,103 in Champhai T.D.Block, and 49 villages with a population of 20,102 in T.Waichong T.D.Block.

In this regard, a felicitation function in honour MLA Nemcha Kipgen was hosted on Saturday at District Council Hall, Kangpokpi by killing a huge pig for a grand feast which was a symbol of customary gratitude.

During the function, Chongpu Kipgen, MCS, Chief Executive Officer, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi; Seikhomang Khongsai, President, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills; Dr.Hatzaw, MS, Kangpokpi Christian Hospital and various church leaders were on the dais with the MLA.

The Appreciation programme was attended by various village chiefs within Sadar Hills, leaders of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, Kuki Women Union Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization, Kangpokpi Youth Union, etc.

The MLA was presented with Kuki traditional shawl 'Saipikhup' as a marked of being a responsible Mother of the Constituency and a symbol of gratitude for her generous contribution towards the people.

Speaking on the occasion MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that Kangpokpi SDC Circle was about to be upgraded to Champhai Sub-Division when M.Joy Singh, Addl.

Secretary (Revenue), Govt.of Manipur issued an order in Manipur Gazette Extraordinary on November 25, 2011 .

"I was awfully shock to learn the unsolicited plan of doing away Kangpokpi TD Block and alienated into Waichong and Champhai Block", asserted the MLA while adding that she had initiated every possible measure to put back Kangpokpi TD Block for the welfare of the people.

While expressing gratitude to Chief Minister O.Ibobi Singh, Home Minister, Gaikhangam, RD&PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa and IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip for their acceptance in retaining the Kangpokpi TD Block, the lady MLA said that the people's representatives including herself successfully repaired the damage.

MLA Nemcha Kipgen averred that Kangpokpi TD Block, once done away with has been trifurcated on August 11, 2014 .

Meanwhile, Kanggui Area Chief Organization conveyed its gratitude also to the Chief Minister; RD&PR Minister, and IFCD Minister for the far-fetched contribution towards the welfare of people of Sadar Hills and appreciated the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen for her important role in administration of Sadar Hills.
