May deadliest month, fatal for 0-45 age group

As the state is witnessing high fatality rate in the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, May has become the deadliest month with 402 fatalities recorded even as number of death cases is rising in the age group of 0 to 45 years.
As of May 31, the cumulative fatality count has reached 807 of which 402 were reported in May alone while the remaining 407 were reported in the preceding 10 months.
Number of deaths in the age group of 0 to 45 years is 128 .
Out of them, 67 were recorded in May alone and the remaining 61 in the preceding 10 months.
The first death case due to Covid-19 was reported on July 29 last year.
The age group of 51 to 75 years still remains the most vulnerable as maximum of the death cases are reported in this age group.
An 18 months old boy became the youngest victim, which was reported on Monday.
So far, five deaths have been reported in 0 to 18 years of age and 15 deaths in 19 to 30 years of age.
Fatality counts reported in different age group are 31-35 years (30 deaths), 36-40 years (34), 41- 45 years (49), 46-50 years (60), 51-55 years (90), 56-60 years (110), 61-65 years (108), 66-70 years (83), 71-75 years (96), 76-80 years (66), 81-85 years (28), 86-90 years (21), and 91-100 years (12).March and April last year reported one positive cases each while May and June reported 69 and 1163 positive cases respectively.
The state did not have any fatality in the first four months of the pandemic.
On the other hand, 1387 positive cases & five deaths were reported in July last year, 3631 positive cases & 23 deaths in August, 4731 positive cases & 40 deaths in September, 7519 positive cases & 100 deaths in October, 6543 positive cases & 113 deaths in November, 3143 positive cases & 74 deaths in December, 880 positive cases & 16 deaths in January this year, 205 positive cases & 2 deaths in February, 127 positive cases & 1 death in March, 2457 positive cases & 31 deaths in April, and 18,894 positive cases & 402 deaths in May.
