MU to rope in CBI

Taking serious note of the huge amount spent in publishing annual calendar and diary of 2018 and loss of related files, the Manipur University authority has decided to rope in CBI to investigate the case.
A well placed source informed that diaries and calendars published last year cost Rs 350 and Rs 700 respectively per piece.
MU Administrator Jarnail Singh today instructed the Finance Officer to examine how and why the annual diary and calendar were published at such a high cost.
If any discrepancy is detected in the course of the examination, CBI would be roped in to investigate the case thoroughly, said the source.
It is said that files related to publication of 700/800 diary and calendar could not be located so far.
Meanwhile, as requested by students of Deendayal Upadhyaya Agricultural College, Utlou which is affiliated to MU, the MU authority has initiated due process to hold MSc (Agri) exam.
