The Indo Myanmar Asian Highway affected Committee Chandel and Tengnoupal District warns of intensified agitation, including bandh and other forms of protest.
Speaking to media persons during a public gathering at Khongkhang village, committee spokesperson, Swamy Thonglung alleged that the DC Chandel and Tengoupal has ignored the RTI request of the committee over compensation of the affected people from Thamnapokpi to Moreh.
The committee submitted the RTI petition on February 3 to Chandel and Tengnoupal, M Rajkumar, to which the DC assured to provide the RTI report.
However, the report has not been issued till date, Swamy said.
He alleged that the DC mistreated the chief of Thamnapokpi and the committee members when they visited him on March 17 to discuss the issue.
A memorandum has also been submitted to the Chief Minister, he added.
Swamy Thonglung further stated that if the State Government doesn't take up action over the issue at the earliest, the committee is prepared to carry out various forms of agitation including bandh.
