Imphal, November 15 2019:
In light of the recent developments in the Naga peace process, the Union of Associations of Manipur Writers has submitted a memorandum to the President of India said a statement of the union today.
Comparing the Government's proposal that all stakeholders will be invited "after the completion of the talks" as "putting the cart before the bullocks," the union in its memorandum questioned the reason for not disclosing the details of the agreement reached between the Government of India and NSCN(IM).
It also suggested that the Government of India should hand over the matter to a body or council with the name "Peace and Security Council" to be constituted of five permanent members of five leading States of India including the North East region and all Indian States as non-permanent members.
