Govt schools need public support to excel: MLA Loken

MLA of Nambol Assembly Constituency (AC), N Loken Singh has maintained that students of government schools would do well over private schools if the state government provided facilities at par with private educational institutes in the state and for this to happen the cooperation of the public is essential.
Addressing function organized in connection with distribution of school uniforms at Kakyai Primary School under Nambol AC by School Management Committee as Chief Guest on Monday, the MLA observed that with an aim to uplift the educational status of the country, UPA government at the centre has taken up various flagship programmes like free and compulsory education to all and in Manipur a total number 258 primary schools have been upgraded to the status of junior primary school under the Right to Education Act.
