Dental college students protest

Students and internees of Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, have locked down the college building and clinics of Dental College, RIMS, today demanding that the payment of stipend to BDS internees be at par with that of MBBS interns.
Thus far, stipends to the BDS internees has not been finalized.
The students have been told that till a final amount is decided by the competent authorities, stipend would be paid at the amount determined at institute level as an interim measure on or before November 30.It was also assured that once the final stipend amount is decided, the arrear amount of stipend would be released.
Prof Ch Arun Kumar Singh, Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, in a statement, said the students and BDS internees of Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, have been advised to go back to their normal and routine works lest the RIMS authority should be constrained to take up necessary and appropriate disciplinary action against them.
