Saikul civil bodies appeal

Civil bodies of Saikul under the aegis of Kuki Inpi, Saikul Gamkai urged the involved organization(s) or individual(s) to release the two abducted workers at the earliest.
In a joint statement, Kuki Inpi (Saikul Gamkai), Kuki Women's Union (Saikul Gamkai) and Kuki Students' Organization (Saikul Gamkai) urged to release the two workers who were engaged in the construction of retaining wall between Gangpijang and Purum along Imphal-Saikul road.
K Yaima Singh (50), s/o K Ibohal Singh and A Surjit Singh (30), s/o A Chandra Singh of Lilong Arapati were reportedly abducted on November 22 from the construction site by unknown miscreant(s) .
Strongly condemning the incident, the statement said that civil bodies of Saikul area are against criminal activities which disrupt the developmental works in the area.
The workers are innocent people and no harm should be done.
Yaima and Surjit should be released unconditionally on humanitarian ground, the statement added.
