AMMDC presents gifts to journalists

In connection with the sacred month of Ramadan, All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) presented gifts to seven journalists acknowledging their selfless contributions towards the society in an event held at its office at Lilong Ushoipokpi today.
Speaking on the occasion, Md Atao, general secretary of AMMDC lauded the efforts of journalists who worked continuously during the difficult COVID-19 pandemic to cover news and keep the public updated of the major events happenings.
Not only during any pandemic, journalists go to places sacrificing their safety to cover important issues and report the news to the public.
Therefore, people should acknowledge such countless contributions and as a mark of respect today's programme is being organised, he stated.
Further he declared that the programme will be held annually from now on.
He also appealed to all the concerned not to pose any hindrance or cause threat to the journalists since such incidences are disheartening.
In view of the Ramadan month which is set to begin from tomorrow, he prayed for a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous society.
And he warned that appropriate actions will be taken against those who defy the norms of the Ramadan month.
