PETs suspect inside hand behind YAS office arson

Hinting of the involvement of some employees of the YAS Department, YAS Physical Education Teachers' Association today demanded termination of the services of the culprits.
The president of the association Th Tomba said that in the fire service books and ACRs of 119 physical education graduate teachers with BPED, BPI, DPEd, which are required for their promotion, have been reduced to ashes.
He said that for the last 30 years, physical education teachers have been discharging their duties of imparting physical education training in government schools with ' 4000 per month with their posts not being upgraded.
It was only recently that government started taking up steps for upgrading the post of 339 PETs on a three-tier basis by issuing an order on January 4.As per the order the post of 17 PETs, 119 lecturer in physical education and 203 undergraduate physical education teachers were to be upgraded.
Clarifying the alleged violation of the RR in the promotion of a lecturer of physical education to deputy director (physical education), Tomba said that M Nilababu was promoted to the post which had been lying vacant for a long time.
The post along with nine posts of district sport officers and deputy director (administration) had been lying vacant due to a case pending in a court.
The case was filed by "untrained" employees of the department.
Nilababu was selected from among the recently upgraded 13 lecturers of physical education as he was the most senior.
Nilababu has all the qualifications required for the post.
He is not only a BSc but also a graduate in physical education, Tomba went on to say that the promotion had nothing to do with his closeness to the CM.
There was no question of breaking the RR of the department, he added.
