Two State girls among 8 selected to study in US

Imphal, August 03 2013 : Eight Indian students, including two girls from Manipur, have been selected for the Community College Initiative Program of the US Government for further studies in US.

Both the students happen to be Baccalaureate students of Darwin School of Business, Guwahati.

Zenith Lairikyengbam , d/o L Ibotombi of Khurai Lamlong has already joined her college in Florida, namely, Miami Dade College, where she would be pursuing her business studies.

Zenith aims to be a business woman.

The other successful candidate Veipune Sarah d/o Khalo of Senapati has been selected to join the prestigious Whatcom Community College in Washington for a one-year course in management studies.

She is scheduled to depart in the first part of August.

The two girls were felicitated during a function at Manipur Press Club here today.

It may be noted here that the Community College Initiative Program of the U.S.Government is one of the numerous scholarships that the Govts of various countries offer to students who wish to study abroad but do not have much money to fund their education.
