Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand has said that in the present context of Manipur, it is not a wise decision to run only after Government jobs as there are not enough provisions nor funds to provide a Government j ob for every household in the State.
He made the statement at a certificate distribution ceremony for youth who have completed three months computer training course under Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana scheme, organised by Kaushal Vikas Kendra Singjamei, at Chingamakha Irom Leikai community hall today.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Y Khemchand said that Manipur has over 6 lakh talented and educated but unemployed youths.
As the Government cannot provide jobs to all the educated youth, the Prime Minister has initiated various skill development programmes to help the unemployed youth and Prime Minister KaushalVikasYojana scheme is one such scheme.
The Speaker informed that computer training was provided to every household of Singjamei, under the scheme, so as to create a better and developed society.
He said that the people who have received the computer training will be able to utilise the knowledge and scope for various employment opportunities.
If one works sincerely and puts enough hard work, one will be able to achieve one's goals in life, he added.
Pointing out that there is no need to feel embarrassed of the nature of one's work, the Speaker said that in the present society, it is not a wise decision to keep chasing only after Government jobs.
He also appealed to the people to take part in the numerous skill development programmes of the Government and work for the development of the State.
On the other hand, Khemchand expressed disappointment with the trend of regarding the richest MLA or politician as the most eligible for ruling the State or region during election times and urged the people to select the candidates who will instead bring positive change to the society.
Kaushal Vikas Kendra Singjamei president Irom Soni, BJP State Unit general secretary K Saratkumar and N Nimbus and Zilla Parishad Member cum BJP Mahila Morcha president K Inaocha were also present at the event.
