Manipur Assembly Speaker adjourns MLAs' cases

Manipur Assembly Speaker's tribunal today resumed and adjourned the hearing on petitions filed against Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee (MPTCC) president Th Shyamkumar and Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) MLA Karam Shyam seeking their disqualification under the Anti-Defection Law.
Speaker Th Lokeshore's tribunal considered the matter relating to withdrawal of the petition filed against MPTCC president Th Shyamkumar by party MLA K Sarat, but the tribunal fixed December 20 for a final decision, sources said.
Another case against Th Shyamkumar was also heard by the tribunal which later fixed January 14 next for final hearing, sources said.
This separate case comes after former Manipur Trinamool president in-charge Kim Gangte filed a separate petition against Shyamkumar to disqualify him for anti-party activities.
The tribunal later heard the case of Langthabal MLA K Shyam and adjourned it till January 14 next.
Three separate petitions seeking disqualification of LJP MLA Shyam were filed by party worker Kh Vimal, BJP workers N Momon Meitei and K Sharatchandra charging him with anti-party activities.
