Trucks set ablaze

Imphal, August 16 2018:
Suspected bandh supporters burned down two loaded Tata trucks and one Cruiser along Imphal-Jiribam highway, in between Pongreolong (Charoi Pandongba) village and Sehjang village under Gamnom Sapermeina PS, today morning.
According to sources, the trucks loaded with eatable items and the cruiser were proceeding towards Imphal from Jiribam side when the incident took place at around 8 am today, some distance away from the 86th Bn CRPF camp.
The sources mentioned that the loaded trucks and the passenger cruiser are suspected to have been burned down by the volunteers and supporters of 24 hours bandh imposed along the National Highway as well as the National Projects taken up along the National Highway, by the Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland), Zelaingrong Youth Front (A, M, N) and Zeliangrong Students Union Manipur (ZSUM) demanding the State government and the authority concerned to book the individuals who were involved in the abduction student and youth leaders on August 4 .
