Imphal, July 09 2020:
The Rongmei Naga Youth Organization Manipur (RNYOM) has expressed concern over the 'unbecoming' activities of Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM), who allegedly paid a support visit to the recently elected Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba.
The statement issued by RNYOM stated that although the purpose of the visit may have been in good intention(s), it has painted a wrong picture of the Rongmei tribal organizations as CSOs are non-political bodies and should refrain from subscribing to any political parties.
The RNCM team led by Kenaan Kameih had recently visited Leishemba Sanajaoba and openly stated to show the tribe's support and prayed for his success in the MP election.
This has created division of opinions and portrayed weak bond of unity of the Rongmei people.
Considering the above matter, RNYOM has demanded that RNCM led by Kenaan Kameih should clarify and seek public apology for 'committing blunders' against the interest of the people.
