Aspirants from the state to pursue a course in Nature Cure Doctor have been extended an opportunity to study with a monthly stipend of Rs 5000, Chief Medical Officer of the Nature Cure and Yoga Hospital, Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Dr K Basanta said.
He was speaking at the valedictory function of the eight-day Naturopathy Awareness cum Treatment Camp under the aegis of the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune.
Dr Basanta further said that people begin to benefit the chemical-free treatment through nature and yoga.
Doctors of nature care have found their place in every hospital.
The same is also in the case of Manipur's health centres, he said.
Getting the benefits, the Directorate of Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy under the Ministry of Health has started a new course, Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science (BNYS).
The course will be availed at eleven hospitals of the country, Dr Basanta said.
The five years course will begin session from August this year.
Students who have passed the class XII examination with Biology as one of the subjects can apply for the course.
Speaking on the occasion, senior physician of NCYRH, I Pramodini said that naturopathy treatment is nothing but a simple treatment to patients without using chemical.
MLA of Kshetrigao, Th Nandakishore has also spoke during the function as the chief guest.
Around 58 participants were registered in the eight-day awareness cum treatment camp.
