IMA issues Covid advisories for fests

Imphal, December 24 2020:
Issuing advisories on the eve of Christmas and ahead of New Year celebrations, the Indian Medical Association Manipur State Branch advised people to avoid gathering of large number of people at all cost; to avoid crowded places; individual above 60 years of age with comorbidities not to venture out, pregnant women and children below 10 years of age to stay at home; follow the social distancing protocol strictly; make it compulsory for people to wear mask properly at public places and frequent washing of hands or sanitising hands using a sanitiser.
IMA added that though a downward trend in COVID-19 cases was observed in the State in the last couple of weeks, one cannot rule out the possibility of a surge in COVID-19 cases following the festival days.
The IMA Manipur State Branch lauded the Government for their initiatives to contain the pandemic which has brought the downward trend.
