Edn Minister inspects schools

Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam today made surprise visits at two higher secondary schools in Imphal - Ananda Higher Secondary School and The Churachand Higher Secondary School accompanied by the Joint Secretary, Education L Nandakumar Singh and concerned officials of Engineering Department, RMSA.
During the visit, the Ministerial team inspected the classrooms, laboratories and the school premises.
The Minister said that the inspection of these schools is to analyse the prevailing conditions of the schools and to plan out proper infrastructure development of the schools.
He said that the two higher secondary schools are among the best in the State with high enrolment.
In the higher secondary level, he explained that the classes being streamlined as per the subject offered by the students have certain requirements in the infrastructure of the school.
To enable the students take part in competition and build their confidence, the Government is trying to keep up the basic infrastructures required in the schools, he added.
Th Radheshyam urged the school Principals to conduct regular social services/ cleaning works with the students.
Such works will develope a sense of belongingness and responsibility, he said and continued that it will also instill health and hygiene.
School is a pious place where the young minds come to earn knowledge and keeping it neat and clean is the task of both the staff and students, he said.
