AR recovers banned wild life products

Imphal, June 16 2011:
Troops of 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) recovered banned wild life products from a TATA Sumo (MN-05A 2674 ) moving towards Moreh from Imphal on NH 39 at its check post at Khudengthabi yesterday.
Lady police representative also included in the operation during which the banned products were intercepted from two women occupants of the vehicles.
The two women detained by the AR were identified as Thiengte (22) daughter of Late Routsang of Moreh ward no.7 and Theneilhing (32) wife of Ngamkhopao of Moreh ward no.8 .
10.5 kgs of Pangolin shells, two mobile phones and seven SIM cards were recovered from them.
They have been handed over to to Forest Department, Imphal along with the seized items, a statement of the IGAR(S) said.
