AR conducts ex-servicemen rally, medical camp

Senapati, October 15 2018:
Maram Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted an ex-servicemen rally and medical camp for ex-servicemen and Veer Naris of Ukhrul, Kangpokpi and Senapati districts, at Maram today.
110 veterans, 88 widow including Veer Naris and 12 dependents were present in the event.
The event was addressed by Brigadier Mohit Seth, VSM, Commander 10 Sector Assam Rifles and Colonel VM Nithani, Commandant 38 Assam Rifles.
The ex-servicemen rally was organised to discuss the grievances of ex-servicemen including pension anomalies.
The veterans were informed about various Government schemes and benefits, re-employment opportunities, and the ongoing army recruitment rally at Churachandpur district which would benefit them and their families.
A medical camp was also organized to facilitate medical aid to veterans and their dependants.
The medical camp was conducted by CMO, Maram Battalion and the medical team including dental doctors as well.
Around 200 people were screened and provided requisite medicines at the camp.
The event aso aims to facilitate veterans in preparation of various documents.
Counters or stalls were set up for facilities of Aadhaar Card, PAN card, State Bank of India grievances and schemes information and stalls for Horticulture & Fisheries department was also set up to inform about the latest schemes.
At the end of the event, Veer Naris were felicitated followed by lunch with the veterans.
