Imphal, March 26 2021:
A bloody crackdown launched by the Tatmadaw (Myanmar army) at Tamu bazar area yesterday left one dead and at least seven protesters injured.
Three of the injured persons have been admitted at JNIMS Hospital, Imphal with bullet injuries.
Two of them are in critical conditions.
The three Myanmar Nationals receiving treatment at JNIMS have been identified as Nay Nay alias Nyn Nyn Thum (31), Nyae Com Konanyoon (29) and Phuyoo alias Phuzo (32) .
All of them belong to Tamu town under Sagaing sub-division.
Nyae Com Konanyoon was hit by bullets on his chest and knee while Phuyoo was hit on his back and belly.
Both are in critical conditions.
Nay Nay on the other hand was hit by a bullet on his buttock and his condition is out of danger.

According to sources in Moreh, they received first aid at Moreh sub-district hospital today morning before being evacuated to JNIMS.
ASP (Ops) M Amit and OC Dilip Kumar visited and enquired about the injured at Moreh hospital.
Following this development, State security forces and Assam Rifles have strengthened border security, said our Moreh source.
Meanwhile, information gathered from different sources said the military crackdown on protesters occurred near Tamu bazar yesterday night.
The Tatmadaw fired live and rubber bullets on the protesters killing one instantly and injuring seven others.
While three of them are receiving treatment at JNIMS, others are receiving treatment at a hospital in Tamu.
It may be noted that the Myanmar army under its Chief Min Aung Hlaing had staged a coup arresting elected leaders including Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi on February 1.Since then, pro-democracy leaders and people of Myanmar have been protesting the coup.
The Hindu adds: Security measures have been tightened along the international border as many more foreigners may sneak into Manipur.
Some foreigners had taken shelter in North Eastern States.
The Centre has announced that foreigners are not allowed to sneak into Manipur.
Assam Rifles and State forces are patrolling the porous border.
The pandemic has severely affected the legalised border trade at Moreh in India and Namphalong and Tamu in Myanmar.
