Imphal, June 14: In an apparent bid to nip any trouble in the bud following the decision to extend the cease-fire between the NSCN (IM) and the government of India to Naga inhabited areas in the north East region, the Imphal West District Magistrate today imposed prohibitions under CrPC 144 at the Greater Imphal areas.

The restrictions forbid the assembly of four or more individuals at one place or carrying of arms and fire arms.

Official sources said prohibitions, under CrPC 144 may also be enforced at Bishnupur district and other places.

Meanwhile a high level meeting of the state police force was held in the backdrop of the truce extension with DGP AA Siddique in the chair.

Top ranking police officials attended the meeting.

Meanwhile the MSCP (N) has come out very strongly against the decision of the Centre to extended the cease-fire beyond the boundaries of Nagaland.

In a statement the party said that the MSCP was formed on the platform of safe guarding the territorial that it is firmly against the decision to extend the Naga cease-fire to all Naga inhabited areas of the North East.

Striking a somber tone, the MSCP (N) said the time has now come for all political leaders to shed their differences and come together unitedly to fight any designs to dismantle the territory of the state.

The statement further said the MSCP (N) had been opposing the move to impose Presidnet�s Rule in the state as it feared that the truce extension could be effected in the absence of a popular Ministry.

This was precisely the reason why the Nipamacha led Ministry made way for the People Front Government under Radhabinod Koijam.

Again it was because of this factor to prevent the imposition of PR that the MSCP (N) had supported the trust motion sought by the Koijam Ministry.

MSCP (N) further said the Centre would not have taken the Centre would not have taken the decision extend the cease fire if there was a popular government in place.

At such a juncture, the people of Manipur should now start questioning who were responsible for the imposition of Central rule in the State.

Assembly Speaker Dr S Dhananjoy said the Centre�s decision goes against the resolutions taken by the assembly.

He appealed to all political figures and parties cutting across parity line and affiliations to come together and chart out ways to counter the impending threat to the territorial integrity.

A meeting of all the MLAs may be held tomorrow to discuss and take discussion to handle the issue.

Some MLA told the press that the 60 members of the House should resign en masse against the arbitrary decision of the Centre.
