The expansion of the cease fire territory between the NSCN (IM) AND THE Government of India has never been discussed at the level of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
This was revealed by the leader of the Samata Party and Convenor of NDA, George Fernandes, while speaking to newsmen this morning.
He said he is not at all aware that the central government planned to have ceasefire extended to all Naga inhabited areas.
He however said the center has assured a delegation from Manipur in 1997, that there will be no such extension.
Fernandes agreed that the Samata Party government in Manipur has been toppled by an ally.
He however added that no government can be formed after the President�s Rule without the assent of the Samata Party.
He said only after the political atmosphere prevailing at the time of the fall of the Radhabinod Koijam Minister has altered, can there be a new government installed.
He said President�s Rule in Manipur become unavoidable because of the instability ushered in by the state MLAs.
He also added that the misuse of the speaker�s post contributed largely to this political instability.
He said the decision of the central leaders of the BJP and the Samata Party to have their state units stay away from the government formation in Manipur on May 28 was a last minute compromise out of a certain compulsions.
He said the resolutions of the one day political conference of the party in Imphal yesterday will be placed before the highest political forum in the country and their implementations will be sought earnestly.
The Samata Party central leaders have left the state today.
