Tamenglong, February 19 2016 : Following the allegations against Tamenglong DC M Luikham made by some local organisations, the Zeliangrong Youth Front has appealed to all the individual to refrain from issuing manipulative propaganda in public domain which may tarnish the image of Zeliangrong people.

In a statement, ZYF said that an organisation christened as "Joint Frontal Development Organisation Tamenglong" has alleged that DC M Luikham had declined to co-operate in the proposed construction of a market shed in the district HQs.

It has been found that there is no such plan under the North Eastern Council (NEC) for market construction.

Construction of sub-divisional level tribal market complex, as per the decision taken during the NEC meeting on No- vember 2015 at Shillong, is to be executed by the Tribal Development.

Allegation levelled against the DC regarding the matter is baseless, ZYF said in a statement.

The statement further said that allegation against the DC in regard with the hardship faced by students in obtaining tribe certificates is unfounded as the SDOs/SDMs con- cerned can issue the same after verification.

Lack of administrative transparency among the subordi- nate officials as alleged by the organisation can highlighted to concerned authority in accordance to the specific rules and procedures laid down for the Government employees, ZYF said.

Though the DC is the head of the district admin- istration, he is not the sole authority to initiate any step without adhering to the guidelines and rules while selecting a site for any developmental project, the statement said.

ZYF further urged the responsible people not to mislead the general public whenever their interest is not served.

Such misleading information cast the populace of Tamenglong in a bad light.

Let the Zeliangrong apex body be informed of any public grievance for effective enforce- ment and also to prevent unnecessary problems.

Issuing irresponsible and manipulative propaganda in public domain will not be tolerated.
