Imphal, August 10 2016:
Students and teachers of Little Master English School, Samurou today took out a protest rally against placing a hand grenade inside the school campus last night.
The protest rally started from the school's South Block and it went up to Samurou Mayai Leikai.
Turning back from there, the protesters came to the school's main gate where they staged a sit-in-protest.
The protesters shouted many slogans and carried placards which read as "We condemn planting bombs in schools", "Dont create fear psychosis among students" etc.
Even as school managing committee secretary Moirangmayum Okendrajit said that there was no case of any monetary demand from any UG group, the school's founder Principal Moirangmayum Thoiba confided that he was allegedly asked through media by KCP (Maoists) to close the school from 2017 and also not to contest State Assembly elections.
He said that he joined electoral politics after snapping all connections with the school's administration since around three years back.
But it was not clear whether the act of placing a bomb inside the school campus last night was connected with other disturbing incidents which took place in the past, Thoiba added.
