JCILPS members sent to judicial custody

Imphal, September 16 2014:
Despite State Government ' s assurance to release all the arrested JCILPS members by September 19, all of them were remanded to judicial custody till September 29 today.
Six JCILPS Women Wing members, who were in the custody of Imphal police station from September 12, were today produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate under FIR number 337 (9) 2014 Imphal Police Station under section 147/149/120-B 124-A/15-A/506 of Indian Penal Code.
As no defence counsel was present during their appearance in the Court, they were remanded to judicial custody till September 29 .
The six Women Wing members have been identified as C Jamini, L Gvaneshori.

P Shakhi.
T Ramani and RK Guni.
On the other hand, five JCILPS Student Wing members.
who were in at Imphal police station from September 12.were also produced before the same Court at around noon under FIR Number 338(9) 2014 of Imphal Police Station under section 147/ 149/120-B/124-AT5-A/506 of Indian Penal Code and Crill Law A Act.
The Court remanded them to judicial custody till September 29 .
As they were brought out from the courtroom, they raised slogans like 'We demand ILP implementation'.
'Long Live Manipur' and 'Resign all the 60 MLAs' .
The Student Wing members were sent to Sajiwa Central Jail while Women Wing members were lodged at Imphal Central Jail.
On the other hand, seven JCILPS members including its executive and media subcommittee members, who were under remand at Irilbung Police Station from September 10, were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal East and remanded to judicial custody till September 29 after they refused to secure their release on PR bond of Rs 5000 each.
They appeared before the Court under FIR Number 81(9)2014 of Irilbung Police Station under Section457/436/427/34ofIndian Penal Code and 149/120-B of Indian Penal Code.
During their appearance, they objected their judicial remand and urged the Court to release them on bail or discharge them from the case.
The defence counsel, who appeared in the Court from the side of the seven JCILPS members, denied the allegations levelled against his clients and pleaded the Court to release them on bail.
He alleged that police have falsely implicated the JCILPS members in the case.
