NSCN, KCP (MC) nabbed

Imphal, May 16 2011:
Four UG cadres including one of the NSCN-IM and three of the KCP (MC) were arrested by security forces from different parts of the state, according to official sources.
The NSCN (IM) cadre, Donald Chiphang @ Tonreimung Chiphang (23) son of late Mathingmei Chiphang of Greenland Ukhrul, was arrested by a team of Imphal West district police commandos from Deulahland.
He has been charged of involving in the extortion of money from the general public and misguiding young boys.
Troops of 33 AR under the Logtak Brigade launched special search operation in Phabakchao area today and apprehended an activist of the KCP (MC) KK Nganba group, identified as Md Raffid (26) son of Md Borbam of Phugakchao.
Two more activists of the same group were apprehended by a joint team of 33 AR, 18 Sikh Regiment and police commandos in Mayang Imphal PS in a search operation carried out based on information provided by Raffid.
They were identified as Md Abid-ur Rehman (27) son of Tayeb Ali of Bengoon and Md Masib-ur Rehman (25) son of Abdul Maran of same locality.
A Chinese mine and seven 7.62 mm live rounds were recovered from their possession, a statement of the PIB (DW) Imphal said alleging that they were involved in recruitment, tax collection, extortion and money collection for the group from Phugakchao and Bengoon area.
They have been handed over to the Mayang Imphal Police Station.
