Cycle rally flagged off

A cycle rally entitled, 'Call of Brahmaputra', a joint venture of Sarhad, a Pune based NGO, Swanand Adventure, an adventure group based in Pune along with Pedal Attack, Manipur based cyclist group, was flagged off today by Chief Minister O Ibobi at his official residence.
In the first phase of the cycle rally, cyclists from different parts of the country will reach Shillong on March 22 after covering 750 km across four North East States in 10 days.
Speaking at the flagging off ceremony, O Ibobi said that such an initiative must be encouraged by one and all.
The cycle rally would bridge the gap between mainland India and the seven sister States of the North East.
"The scenic beauty of NE States would surely be experienced by the cyclists who come from various parts of the country and they will spread the message of brotherhood and unity", CM Ibobi added.
Altogether 28 cyclists from Sarhad and Swanand Adventures and 20 cyclists of Pedal Attack participated in the cycle rally.
