Jiri/Bpr/Tpl, September 26 2018: Jana Neta Irabot Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam led by its Life time President Dr Chandam Kamal Singh paid floral tribute and respect to the monument of Hijam Irabot to commemorate the 67th death anniversary of Hijam Irabot at Irabot Memorial Complex Babupara, Jiribam today morning.

Later, a full rehearsal March Past led by Sagapam Roshimala Devi as commander was conducted by 21 contingents comprising Senior and Junior sections of students from various schools of Jiribam, who are going take part in the upcoming observance of 122nd birth anniversary of Jana Neta Irabot.

Sagapam Roshimala Devi also led NCC contingent of North East State as commander during the Republic Day Celebration in 2014 at New Delhi.

It may be mentioned that Jana Neta Irabot Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam has been continuously observing birth anniversary of Jana Neta Irabot as one of the biggest events in Jiribam while the main event of the observance to be held on September 30 will be graced by Forest & Environment, Horticulture, Soil Conservation & Town Planning Minister Thounaojam Shyam Kumar Singh as Chief Guest.

Meanwhile, All Jiribam Farmers Association also remembered late leader Hijam Irabot on his 67th death anniversary in a simple function held at Mongbung village today while Moirangthem Gopal attended the commemoration function as chief guest, President of the Farmers association Thoudam Bokul as functional president while advisor of All Jiribam Working Journalists Union Sarat Thokchom narrated the life story of Hijam Irabot and his contribution to the Manipuri society during the function.

Meanwhile, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Jiribam also observed 67th death anniversary at its library while poetry recitation based on Irabot was also held during the function.

President, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Jiribam Khogendro Singh attended the function as functional president while President, United Club Association Kachar Khaidem Kanta Singh attended the function as chief guest.

In Bisnupur, Jana Neta Irabot Memorial Trust, Nambol organized a simple function to commemorate the 67th death anniversary of Jana Neta Hijam Irabot at Nambol Bazar Bus Parking while floral tributes and respect were paid to the monument of the late leader.

MLA Nambol AC N Loken Singh, President of Jana Neta Irabot Memorial Trust, Nambol T Ibochouba Singh, Senior member of the Trust L Shyamkeshwar Singh, Advisor of Trust Ng Mana Singh, member of Manipur State Council Control Commision T Ibemhal Devi and Ex-chairperson Nambol Municipal Council N Sanahalbi Devi attended the function as presidium members.

The function began with the paying of floral tribute to the statue of Jana Neta Irabot as a mark of respect while a peace recitation based on Irabot was also presented at the end of the function.

Many resource persons narrated the humble beginnings and life story of the leader and eulogized the contribution made by him to the society.

M Thoiba President Meetei Council Moreh, Th Budha Meetei VP All Community Development Organization Moreh, Ch Ibecha VP Kha-Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Th Jamuna Devi President Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, N Bimol Meetei Convenor PPCM, L Dhana Luwang Convenor LINTOC and Kh Nishikanta Co-convenor LINTOC attended the function as presidium members while floral tributes and respect were paid to the portrait of leader Hijam Irabot.

Retd Prof N Joykumar spoke as resource person at the occasion and lauded the crucial role played by Hijam Irabot for the betterment of Manipuri society.
