Story telling fest to be held

Imphal, April 22 2019:
Repertory of Waree Leeba, Manipur in collaboration with Brahmaputra Valley, Hojai Branch Assam, will be organising the 5th Waree Leeba festival at Durga Mandir, Brahmaputra Valley, Lanka, from April 26 to April 30 .
A press release issued by the Director of the Repertory of Waree Leeba Manipur, mentioned that the festival will be held under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and will be participated by 6 story tellers from Assam and 4 from Manipur namely Thokchom Kalimohon (Thoirenkhun, Lanka), Thongkhatabam Nandababu Sharma (Pipalpukhri), Yumkhaibam Indrajit (Nayanpur), Heisnam Binod (Nandapur), Konthoujam Mohen (Gouranagar) and Mutum Dhanibaabu (Gouranagar) from Assam and Takhellambam Shyamkanhai Singh (Khurai Chaithabi Leirak), Leishangthem Ibotomba Singh (Thoubal Leishangthem), Laikhuram Mani Singh (Kongpal) and Konthoujam Kunjo Singh (Kongba Kshetri Leikai) from Manipur.
An interaction programme will be held every day during the period of the festival and two Waree Leeba gurus from Manipur, Manipur State Kala Akademi Awardees Guru Laikhuram Mani Singh and Guru Konthoujam Kunjo Singh will also take part in lecture cum demonstration during the festival.
Director of Repertory of Waree Leeba Manipur, Takhellambam Shyamkanhai Singh will also take part in the interaction programme and the team of the association led by its president Konthoujam Kunjo Singh will leave Imphal for the festival on April 25 .
