Imphal, May 19 2012:
Reacting on the accusation by student organisations that the Government of Manipur had been indifferent to the controversial demises of Richard Loitam at Bangalore and Okram Laaba in Chennai, Home Minister Gaikhangam asserted that all possible measures are being taken to solve the incidents.
With apparent reference to the agitation by student activists, who locked-up/attempted to shut-down offices of political organisations this afternoon, he suggested that peaceful means should be followed to resolve all outstanding problems.
Pointing out that Government of Manipur had been regularly intimating to the Karnataka Government for an expeditious conclusion on the death of Richard Loitam, Gaikhangam clarified that there is no laxity by the Government of Manipur to find the truth on the demise of the architecture student.
