Bandh affects normal life in Bishnupur and Jiribam

Bishnupur, October 15 2018:
The State-wide bandh called by various UG groups to observe October 15 as 'BlackDay' has affected normal life in Bishnupur District and Jiribam.
During the bandh, main market in the Bishnupur district including Nambol market, Oinam market, Bishnupur market, Ningthoukhong market, Moirang market, Kwakta market and Kumbi market wore a deserted look while women vendors did not turn up to sell their vegetables in the market.
Many passenger vehicles providing inter-district and inter-village services stayed off the road.
However, few private vehicles were seen plying on the road.
Students stayed at home and did not turn up to attend thier classes at Govt and private school in the district while Government offices witnessed minimum attendance.
No casualty has been reported so far till the filing of this report.
JIRIBAM: On the other hand, general strike called by the UG groups has paralysed normal life at Jiribam district.
There was no movement of passenger vehicles in Imphal-Jiribam and Jiribam-Silchar road due to the general strike and all the shops and markets remained closed.
Students did not turn up to their classes while many offices recorded minimum attendance.
News of unwanted incidents have been reported so far.
