Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Govindas Konthoujam has expressed his desire to set up mobile veterinary clinics and veterinary check posts at different parts of the State.
The Minister was speaking at a reception function organised in his honour by the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services, Manipur at the conference hall of the department today.
Asserting that he would put in sincere efforts to upgrade and uplift the department, Govindas urged the staff and officers to extend co-operation to him in this regard by working together as a team.
In other States, the Minister said, mobile veterinary clinics and check posts keep strict vigil to control and check seasonal animal and fowl diseases.
This system plays significant role in bringing success to veterinary and animal husbandry movement in these States giving a boost to income generation, he added.
Govindas further pointed out that the check posts could also detect different types of diseases and hazardous chemicals imported to the State through animals and animal flesh.
Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Director, officials and staff of the department were present in today's function.
