The 4 non-Manipuris are from Dhemaji district, Assam and came to Manipur as labourers without holding any labour card.
The members of the Student's Wing also seized the pan card and voter card from the labourers which were found to be forged with fake hologram.
He also demanded an acceptable explanation from the officials and related functionaries of Royals Tour and Travels for this reckless behavior.
Manjit further appealed to all transport operators, ticketing agents and drivers to follow a proper procedure of verifying all non-Manipuris while ferrying them to any part of Manipur via Moreh, Jiribam or Mao.
He also said that a meeting will be held soon in the coming days with all the State Transport Unions/Associations in connection with this issue.
He futher rued that as ILPS or another similar law is not in place in Manipur, infiltration of non-Manipuris continues to pose serious threat to the social, economic and political life of the people.
He also blamed the State officials stationed in Police Check Post for the free flow of non-locals into Manipur.
He appealed the local people to be more vilgilant while renting out rooms to non-locals and get proper police verification done about their antecedents which will help the law enforcers to keep an eye on them and can also prevent any crime in the future.
Citing the incident that happened at Smart Medicos, Nagamapal by non-Manipuris which remain unsolved till date, he said that the culprits are yet to be arrested and no lead were found by the police as proper verification of the perpetrators were not done by the owner.
