Telien United crowned champions of 2nd Kapaam Cup

Telien United defeated Santhei FC 2-1 to emerge champions of the 2nd Kapaam Cup being organised by Kapaam Development Club at Kapaam Public ground, Chandel.
Victor of Santhei FC found the breakthrough early in the 5th minute but Telien staged a strong comeback to beat the former by 2-1 goals.
The equaliser came through Chaoba in the 10th minute of the match while the winner was struck by Thangtinlen in the 21st minute.
The latter part of the game witnessed Santhei FC struggling hard to restore parity but failed in front of well orchestrated defence line up of Telien United.
The match took ugly turns in the last few minutes and in their frenetic efforts Haggai was sent off the field after receiving second yellow card during the additional time (17' and 80+1) .
Manapao of Santhei FC (78th) and Henry (80+3) were also yellow carded in this match.
The final match was graced by Krishnakumar, IAS, DC Chandel; Shanuw Muidou Makunga, Healthcare Consultant and Upa Solomom Nungchim, Chairman, Heigrutampak respectively as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president who also gave away prizes to the winners and other participants during the felicitation ceremony.
Winners Telien FC walked away Rs 60,000 richers while runners up team, Santhei FC were awarded Rs 30,000 .
Chaoba of Telien United was encouraged with the top scorer award while Ng Korningborna of Kapaam FC and Victor of Santhei FC were honoured with best goalkeeper and best player awards respectively.
Liwa Chaning Youth and Cultural Club were also honoured with fair play team award.
