CPI(M) urges for dialogue with stakeholders

The CPI(M), Manipur State Committee has urged the Government of India to start dialogue with all stake holders on the settlement of the Naga issue.
The 22 years old dialogue between the Government of India and Naga groups has been proceeding towards a conclusion .
In this regard there are a lot of apprehensions in the neighbouring states of Nagaland viz Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Particularly in Manipur, the people are on the streets to safeguard the territorial, administrative and political integrity of the State, a press release issued by CPI(M) Manipur State Committee Secretary Kshetrimayum Santa pointed out.
The people of Manipur stand together for the composite nature of Manipuri culture featuring its unique characteristics of unity in diversity.
In this regard, an all political parties delegation went to New Delhi and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah on October 30 .
Amit Shah assured to the delegation in a one liner that before any settlement is arrived at with Naga groups, all stakeholders including States of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh will be duly consulted and their concern will be taken into consideration.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also came out with a declaration in this regard, it conveyed.
"We believe that the Government of India will keep its words, which were publicly declared, and immediately invite all stakeholders in Manipur, Assam and Nagaland including the State Governments, political parties and CSOs for a fruitful dialogue to finally seal the deal in the interest of people irrespective of their caste, creed and religion for a lasting peace in the region particularly in Manipur", it added.
