NMBCC Thoubal launches door to door campaign

Thoubal, January 02 2021:
A Door to door campaign was launched by Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee (NMBCC), Thoubal district under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India today.
The campaign was initiated by the members of Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee in collaboration with Meira Group in Wangjing and every household was distributed with IEC materials, said a statement of the DLC on NMBCC, Thoubal.
An interaction programme was also held in Wangjing Bazar with the Public vehicle association where every participant was urged not to use drugs.
While conforming to the SOPs of COVID-19 as mandated by the State Government, an awareness programme was also held at Child Care Educational Foundation Wangjing, where 25 persons participated in the programme, it added.
Addressing the programme, Y Lakshman Singh highlighted the importance and goals of Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign in detail.
L Jailshyam mentioned the need for the involvement of youths to reduce drug abuse.
W Shushilkumar, President, Meira Group expressed the role of women in the prevention of drug abuse.
Similarly, an Awareness programme was organised at RDS (IRCA) where Yumnam Lakshman Singh, member Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee; Kh Robindro Singh, Project Coordinator RDS (IRCA); Th Inaobi Meitei of RDS, Wangjing and Seram Asha, EO (WP) delivered speeches on how to reduce the demand and supply of drugs in the district.
The Inmates were empowered not to use drugs and were asked to share their activities and experiences in the centre.
Likewise, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee in collaboration with Fathersland Patriots Memorial Club, Khongjom conducted an awareness generation programme at Eureka High School Khongjom.
57 participants took part in the awareness generation programme, it added.
Arambam Kameshwar Singh highlighted the prevailing situation of Drug and Substance Abuse among the youths in the State.
As the club is working to develop good football players, the youths should be responsible and stay away from any form of drugs, he added.
