Eternal Spring remembers its founder

Eternal Spring English School, Sekta observed the 16th death anniversary of its founder Yendrembam Ibohanbi Meitei today.
The main features of the death anniversary observance was a procession taken out by school students and local people to the memorial tomb of Ibohanbi where they paid floral tributes to the school founder.
After paying floral tributes, the students and the people came back to the school premises and attended a public function.
Speaking on the occasion, secretary of the Eternal Spring English School Managing Committee Sagolsem Lolendro said that the school was established by Yendrembam Ibohanbi on March 2, 1988 .
At that time, Sekta and surrounding villages were quite backward in terms of education and literacy.
In its initial period, the school had classes from Nursery to class VIII .
Till 2006, the school did not collect any tuition fee from the students though the school has started collection of tuition fees at the most minimal rates (Rs 80 to Rs 190) .
Presently, the school has around 1010 students.
In the last HSLC Exam, 25 students of the school got first division while another 24 students got second division, Lolendro said.
Saying that the school has succeeded in bringing revolutionary changes in the education scenario of Sekta and surrounding villages, Lolendro attributed these changes to late Yendrembam Ibohanbi.
The death anniversary function was attended by advisors of the school H Yaiskul, N Ingo, president of the managing committee M Shamungou and president of Emmanuel English School Romesh as presidium members.
The managing committee also presented gifts to teachers of the school besides distributing rice to underprivileged people of the locality at reduced rates.
