Richard Loitam case: BJP President to fly to Bangalore

BJP Manipur Pradesh President Sh Shantikumar Sharma will fly to Bangalore tomorrow to press on bringing justice to the death of Richard Loitam.
Speaking to reporters in a press conference held at party office at Nityaipat Chuthek today, the BJP leader said that his party has not only been condemning the incident but also demanding justice.
Moreover, BJP MPs had also drawn the attention of the Parliament and the Union Government to bring about a solution on the uproars arising out of the recent deaths of some youths from North East States in different parts of India, he said.
Shantikumar added that his party MPs had moved calling attention motions in both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha regarding the issue.
Shantikumar further said that apart from expressing concern over the issue on the national media by BJP National Spokesperson, the party had also staged demonstrations in cities like Mumbai.
The BJP leader also assured that his party would demand the Karnataka Government to hand over Richard Loitam's case to CBI if they are unable to make progress in this regard.
Meanwhile, Shantikumar added, at around 1.30 pm today, some students vandalised BJP office at Nityaipat Chuthek alleging that the party is remaining silent on the deaths of Richard Loitam and Okram Laaba.
Condemning today's incident, Shantikumar said that the students not only tore party banners but also broke office materials.
The students also locked the main gate, he added.
