Imphal, June 11 2013:
The State Cabinet Meeting convened with Chief Minister Okram Ibobi in the chair to discuss several key issues was suddenly dissolved over the issue of frisking Cabinet Ministers by CISF personnel guarding the Chief Minister's Secretariat today evening.
According to a reliable source, the Ministers were called by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi for a Cabinet Meeting today evening.
They arrived at the first gate of Chief Minister's Bungalow to attend the meeting.
They then proceeded towards the highly secured gate inside Chief Minister's Secretariat leaving behind their Personal Security Officers inside the campus.
The CISF personnel, who were on duty guarding the Chief Minister's Secretariat, frisked the Cabinet Ministers by making them raise their hands.
The Ministers were not even allowed to carry their mobile phones inside the conference hall.
Unhappy over the matter, PHE Minister I Hemochandra and some other Ministers had heated arguments with the CISF personnel.
They were furious at the manner of frisking by security personnel, the source said.

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi was waiting for the Ministers inside the conference hall.
However, the furious Ministers reacted vehemently to the Chief Minister over the issue of frisking.
Some Cabinet Ministers banged on the table and questioned Ibobi if he had ordered the CISF personnel to frisk all Ministers and MLAs who have come to the CM's Secretariat.
Chief Minister was shivering when some Cabinet Ministers shouted at him over the issue.
Chief Minister O Ibobi later tendered apology to the Ministers on behalf of the CISF personnel.
However, the Ministers left the Hall telling him that they could not entertain such Cabinet Meeting.
Consequently, the Cabinet Meeting was dissolved without any discussion on key issues of the State.
It may be noted that one has to pass through several highly secured gates inside Chief Minister's Bungalow.
All visitors, whether male or female, are allowed only after they are thoroughly frisked by the CISF personnel even by using high advanced computerized body scanner.
Mobile phones, belts, amulets and other metallic objects are not allowed inside the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
All visitors have to register their names and addresses by showing their identity cards to the security personnel.
The Ministers and MLAs have been complaining about the manner of frisking by CISF personnel at Chief Minister's Bungalow for quite a long time.
The sudden dissolution of today's Cabinet Meeting may be a fallout of such grievances, the source added.
