Imphal, March 04 2013:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has said that many students were found using unfair means in the ongoing Class X examination.
Speaking to reporters, DESAM Vice-President M Angamba said that ten inspection teams comprising of four volunteers each today inspected 19 different examination centres.
In most of the centres, students were found using unfair means, he said adding that even teachers were assisting the students in such malpractices in some of the centres.
In one of the centres of Imphal East, solved answers of Question No 22 and 24 of Mathematics subject were found distributed to students, he said.
Scattering of Mathematics guide books all over the school complex and noisy scenes were witnessed in most of the exam centres, Angamba added.
Saying that even DESAM volunteers were not allowed to enter in some exam centres, Angamba said that one student at Wabagai centre was indulging in unfair means repeatedly even after he was asked not to do that.
Maintaining that using unfair means has become a trend from 2003, Angamba said that the union would spell out the names of the teachers who were assisting the students in such malpractices if they keep on doing the same.
Saying that the ongoing inspection drive is being carried out after taking due permission from COHSEM and BOSEM, Angamba urged the security personnel deployed at different exam centres not to raise unwanted questions to DESAM volunteers.
